My name is Michelle “Meiguogirl” Turner and I am a former overseas missionary with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in New Media Journalism, and a certificate in Internet Marketing. While I spent many years working to further my education, I have also had the opportunity to gain employment experience in the hospitality, education, and non-profit industries. While that all sounds so formal, I write it because it has all brought me to where I am today.
I am currently working in marketing for one of the global leaders in the travel wholesale industry. I create promotional content for my company’s largest client.I also do freelance marketing for small businesses and startups. While I am very passionate about my work, and loves what I do, I am equally passionate about writing- which I am able to do very little of currently.
For most of my life, I have felt that there is “no one else like me.” It didn’t matter whether I was in the small town I spent most of my life or when I lived 10,000 miles away from that small town in China. While many would say that this isn’t a bad thing, and maybe on many levels it isn’t, there are times when we can’t help but want to know we aren’t alone. That’s the purpose of Eat, Geek, Love. Whether you are a foodie like me, a geek like me, or relationship challenged like me, there is a place here for you. I will share my thoughts, experiences, and maybe even a little advice. I hope this site will start to feel like your own digital version of Cheers. We will always be glad you came!
